We’ve all been there: the day is planned, we head to our vehicle, jump in, hit the key, but all we get is a grunt from the starter. The battery doesn’t have enough power to turn over the engine. Does your life in general ever feel that way? I know mine does at times. It’s because we haven’t taken time to recharge our batteries – we just keep on taking out but never putting back in. Physically we need rest. We just can not keep going without it. Believe me I know from experience. I have pushed the limits to the max many times.
This is also important in our spiritual lives. It may be you never really have completely connected spiritually with God and His perfect will. Or you may have and failed for some time to really draw close to Him and keep your spiritual battery charged. So many times we are overwhelmed by what we face; health limitations, financial shortfall, loss, failed relationships, you name it. We can become defeated, beaten up and feel hopeless at times. Let me ask you a question: how big is your God? Is He not Lord of the entire universe?
I have read and heard from people in situations where they don’t know if they will have food or shelter each day or their lives are always on the line. They depend completely on God and go forward in faith. Is that where we are weak at times, in our faith and trust in God? We look for earthly solutions when what we need is a total spiritual recharge and regeneration. Satan was defeated when Jesus died on the cross and rose the third day!! Is it possible that it would be better to be homeless with Jesus than living high and large without Him?
Of course we would prefer to live blessed in all areas and often are. The revelation is, what ever our struggle, remember God owns it all anyway. We are just blessed to be able to enjoy whatever He chooses to entrust us with at the moment. Our enemy Satan gets in his blows, but Jesus wins in the end. Let’s make sure our spirits are connected to His strength and power completely! My God is bigger than any problem I will ever face. How about yours? Keeping that in perspective gives us the ability to charge on even in difficult times and never give up.
Let us know if we can help you in any way charging or recharging your spiritual batteries and living with the mighty power of Jesus in your life. But be prepared to hang on for the exciting ride ahead! People should ask, “What is different about those people – they are so alive!”
Blessings,

He Doesn’t Stand A Chance
In 2004, Josh Hamilton was an outstanding pro baseball prospect, but he was suspended because of drug abuse. Then one night Josh had a life-changing dream. He was fighting the devil. “I had a stick,” he said, “and every time I hit him, he’d fall and get back up. I hit him until I was exhausted, and he was still standing.”
After that nightmare, Hamilton vowed to stay clean. The dream returned, but with an important difference. “I would hit [the devil] and he would bounce back,” said Josh. But this time Josh was not alone. He said, “I turned my head and Jesus was battling alongside me. We kept fighting, and I was filled with strength. The devil didn’t stand a chance.”
The Bible says that the devil doesn’t stand a chance because the Spirit, who is in us, is greater than he is (1 John 4:4). Christ came to destroy the works of the devil through His life, ministry, and sacrifice (3:8). At the cross, He disarmed and triumphed over the devil (Col. 1:13-14; 2:15).
Though defeated by the cross, the devil remains active in this world. But his final defeat is certain (Rev. 20:7-10). Until then, we take up the whole armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18), standing firm against him by Jesus’ blood and His Word. He doesn’t stand a chance.
