Our founding fathers based our government on God and the Bible and I believe that is why we have been blessed above all other nations. I know they were not perfect but neither are you and I. As we go into the month of November and get together for our Thanksgiving feasts, let us ponder our country’s beginning and present state. The first Thanksgiving was a time to give thanks to God for surviving in this new land. We need to thank Him this year for the many ways He has blessed us.
We may question; are we as blessed as we were a few years ago? Could that have anything to do with the way we view God in our society? Even our money says “In God We Trust”, but do we really trust God or are we just acknowledging His existence? Do we ask Him for His direction or just plead with Him to give us what we want? Are we cheating ourselves and God by stubbornly clinging to our agenda? God has the best in mind for us but we must trust Him completely so He can lead us down His path.
If we put God in a box we are saying, “I know better than God - I know what’s best for me.” We see only today, God knows what will happen tomorrow and beyond. Have we ever admitted to God we are sinners and fall short of His will? Have we asked Him to forgive us and lead us from here on? Maybe this Thanksgiving season would be a great time to do that or renew that commitment. If one by one each of us will trust in God our country once again can be blessed! Remember the best things in life … aren’t things!

Prayer: Almighty God touch the hearts of each of these dear people. We pray that they would be willing to allow you to hold them in your almighty and comforting arms. We pray for the people of the USA that they would once again turn to you, that you would once again lead and bless this nation. Amen

Flower & Butterfly
Once there was a man who asked God for a flower… 
…and a butterfly.
But instead God gave him a cactus… 
…and a caterpillar.
The man was sad; he didn’t understand why his request was mistaken. Then he thought: Oh well, God has many people to care for, and decided not to question.
After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten. To his surprise, from the thorny & ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown. And the unsightly caterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.
