The Kreider Connection
Racers For Christ
December 2011

Hope this finds you all blessed in this exciting and sometimes crazy time of year. I think the trick is to maintain the blessedness without losing it in all the commercialization around us. We see the baby in the manger and think how sweet. But do we stop to ponder the bigger picture? Jesus left glory to be born in a stable. He lived as a human here on earth experiencing life and has full understanding of what we go through. He died in the worst possible way to pay the price for our sins. I know we all appreciate that kind of love! But do we appreciate it enough to accept that gift in its fullness and completeness? I have found that when I do and trust Him to lead and guide me, amazing things happen. But all too often I am good at setting my own agenda and asking His blessing on it to succeed and prosper. When I do that I cheat myself of the best Jesus has to offer for my life.

Sometimes I think we like to keep the Babe in the manger and think of how He loves us and cares for us. But there is so much more to it! I have seen the amazing power of God use simple people like me. I have seen that power change lives, rebuild the broken, clean up the addicted, direct the wayward, heal the hurting, and give a peace when peace doesn’t make sense in situations. And there is no sin too big for Him to forgive if we take it to Him. Our God in His fullness can completely change the world one person at a time. He can change and use us in ways beyond our wildest imagination. There is no situation too big for God to handle if we let Him do it His way. The key is His way, not blessing ours! It also involves surrender of spirit and seeking Him. Why settle for second best? Pray that we see amazing things by reaching out to a risen Christ with limitless power!!

We pray that each of you will be abundantly blessed in body and spirit this Christmas season. May we all spend the season in a way that reflects the glorious light upon us from our almighty God and King! May this be the best, most exciting life changing season you have ever experienced!!  Remember it is a blessing to be able to help someone and we are humbled when it comes back to us. We love all of you, our great friends. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the season and pray the food doesn’t put on too many pounds. (We ate too much on Thanksgiving, and then went to the gym afterward to work off the calories. I’m not sure how effective that was, but at least my clothes still fit!)

Merry Christmas,

A Prayer for Christmas Morning

The day of joy returns, Father in Heaven,
and crowns another year with peace and good will.

Help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and the worship of the wise men.

Close the doors of hate
and open the doors of love all over the world.

Let kindness come with every gift
and good desires with every greeting.

Deliver us from evil, by the blessing that Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clean hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children.

And the Christmas evening bring us to our bed
with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven,
for Jesus sake.
Amen
